Attractions

The area surrounding Ådalsvollen is rich in history and cultural experiences. Notably, Olavskilden in Sul and Stiklestad (the site of the Battle of Stiklestad) are historical landmarks well worth a visit while you're here.

St. Olavs spring in Sul

St. Olavs spring in Sul is linked to Olav Haraldsson, later known as Saint Olav, who, according to legend, drank from this spring during his campaign to reclaim Norway in 1030. That same year, he fell in the Battle of Stiklestad, a pivotal moment in Norway’s Christianization. After his death, reports of miracles emerged, leading to his sainthood. The water from the spring is still believed to have healing and luck-bringing properties and is used in baptisms and ceremonies to this day.
